FORTIFIED standards are developed by the Insurance Institute for Business and Home Safety (IBHS) and cover residential, multifamily, and commercial construction for both coastal and inland properties. Each standard addresses the specific weather risks a property will face in its location.
There are three FORTIFIED programs: FORTIFIED Home, FORTIFIED Commercial, and FORTIFIED Multifamily. Each has three designation levels: Roof, Silver, and Gold.
