FORTIFIED Homeā„¢ standards are consistent throughout the country. Evaluators ensure a home meets the program requirements no matter where it is.

If you are not working with a FORTIFIED Evaluator, your home or business cannot be verified to meet the FORTIFIED program standards.

FORTIFIED Evaluatorsā„¢ are independent, third-party and certified professionals. They provide critical, mandatory compliance verification services and are the only people who can help you earn a FORTIFIED Designation for your home.

What are the Costs?

The costs for are based on the rates each independent Evaluator charges, the size of your home, the scope of work, and other factors. Get quotes from several Evaluators before deciding who you'd like to work with.

If you are Re-Roofing, ask for a Current Conditions Report

Your Evaluator will create a Current Conditions report (CCR) after performing an in-depth review of your home. This report provides details about the steps needed for your home to meet the FORTIFIED standard. Once you have your Current Conditions Report, it can be used by roofers and contractors to develop a scope of work for their bids.

Training and Certification Requirements of FORTIFIED Evaluators

FORTIFIED Evaluators are certified after completing a comprehensive training course, passing a final exam and meeting rigorous professional requirements. Only then are they qualified to help assess the condition of single-family, detached dwellings.

Your home is not FORTIFIED without an Evaluator

A FORTIFIED Evaluator works with your contractor to document your project. They are the one who provides your home its certification.
